This position requires a highly motivated self-starter, ready to work in a fast-paced production environment to perform planning and production control functions in support of QP's operations departments; oversee department manufacturing schedules, providing statistics and resolutions as needed to management to meet on time delivery. Electric Boat Riggers participate in all indoor & outdoor lifting, handling and moving of heavy loads at the facility.  - Riggers will be required to use typical rigging equipment that includes but is not limited to straps, cables, chains, slings, block and tackle, pulleys, and booms - Riggers will work with mobile cranes with a capacity of up to 120 ton and overhead cranes (radio control and pendent control) with a capacity of up to 60  ton.   Individual will oversee day to day operation of the Integrated Discrimination Team’s Modeling & Simulation (M&S) Computing and Development (MSCD) environments in a Simulation Lab Manager / Integrator capacity.     The MSCD operates at multiple classification levels on the Missile Defense National Team in support of the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) with the objective of identifying requirements for the Missile Defense System (MDS).  The MSDC consists of Linux workstations and servers with Windows 10 based computing resources interfacing to the Linux environment.    The individual will work cooperatively across both National Team programmatic and engineering functions directly supporting and enabling the advancement, management and execution of MSDC development environment while addressing evolving program priorities and meeting execution goals.     Prioritized Activities:   Simulation Development Environment   ·       Design, develop, deploy, manage and maintain physical and virtual lab environments across all security domains in support of system-of-systems level simulation activities that assess MDS performance as an integrated suite of systems.  Simulation module components include a mix of custom built and MDS-element provided software, running on various operating systems.  Work with developers and analysts to ensure the development environment enables analysis results to be repeatable and capable of being delivered to government customers as required. ·       Develop and deploy with program IT support, standard Windows and Linux desktop and server configurations across all security domains in support of analytical and software development activities. ·       Maintain a prioritized list of simulation or computing issues/needs and advocate for program resolution in a timely fashion so that organizational analysis and development objectives are not compromised. ·       Perform other lab simulation management related duties as required.  These additional duties will likely include administering a small number of SQL databases and Apache web server installations, managing and tracking the allocation of MATLAB toolbox licenses, and representing the Product Team in coordinating activities across the program. Duties may also include helping to specify hardware and software for future simulation development efforts and associated purchase. ·       Enable standardization within the software/simulation development environments, implementation of automated build and test processes, deployment of new tools and simulations such as static analysis tools, GFI provided simulations and the development of processes and controls that drive effectiveness and efficiency.   Simulation Configuration Management   ·       Administer numerous Subversion repositories across several classification levels. Tasks include asset planning, data transfers, user administration, branch creation and maintenance, and development and enforcement of best practices. ·       Assess computing needs to determine common/base configurations, updating program plans, and coordinating, implementing and maintaining standardized simulation analysis configurations. ·       Work with program leadership and developers to institute best practices and tools in support of an agile simulation development environment.   This position is in Huntsville, AL   Note: Relocation costs are not offered for this position.

The Electric Boat Naval Architecture Department (D496) is responsible for determining the hydrostatic and hydrodynamic characteristics of submarines and providing waterfront hydrostatics support.   Engineers in the Naval Architecture Department are responsible for concept design, hydrodynamic and hydrostatic analyses, and waterfront shipyard support activities. Concept design activities include design requirement trade-off assessments, early design optimization, team leadership and development of initial hydrostatic estimates.  Hydrodynamic analyses include hydrodynamic loading of flow-exposed structure, maneuvering analysis, hull and control surface shaping, and whole-boat resistance. Hydrostatic calculations include determination of tank volumes, ship displacement, trim, draft, surfaced and submerged ship stability, and evaluation of damage conditions. Waterfront activities include support of blocking, docking, submarine launching, and barge transportation of major hull sections.   Engineers will be initially assigned to one of the above functional groups with opportunities for developmental rotation within the department.

The Advance Planning candidate will be responsible for evaluating VIRGINIA/Columbia Class Contract Changes, Requests for Proposals (RFPs) or Unpriced Supplemental Agreement (UPSA), Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM) Estimates and providing a Planning Evaluation as to any schedule impact resulting from the proposed change. The evaluations will include an assessment of the work split with HII-NNS, impact on schedule, material availability, testing requirements and the Required Authorization Date for the change. Developing evaluations require maintaining rapport with Detail and Advance Planning, Production Control, Test, Shipyard Management, Program Management, Engineering and Contract Change Personnel. The Advance Planner is a vital team member of the Project Management team.
