    Job Description

    Software and computer engineer for the Simulation/Stimulation (Sim/Stim) development team at the Newport Engineering Office in Middletown, RI.  The successful candidate will support the Sim/Stim project during simulator requirements definition, system design, software development, hardware integration, test, documentation, life cycle support and maintenance of the simulators used to test submarine systems.

    Education/ Experience


    • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering
    • Experience with Linux Operating systems and software development in C++
    • Experience with software development environments, Configuration Management tools, C++ compilers, software test and debugging, documentation, test procedure development
    • 2-3 years of related experience


    The candidate must possess strong interpersonal, organizational, communication and writing skills. Candidate must be highly motivated to excel in a team environment developing state of the art software simulations to test VA and CLB Submarines.

    Skills required are Linux, C++, Python and shell scripting.

    Configuration Management tools for software development.

    Experience with Capability Maturity Model Integrated (CMMI) Level 3 processes is also desirable.
