    Job Description

    This position is located at the Groton SUBASE & is the senior civilian assistant to the NRMD Director. 



    The role will be responsible for assuring the NRMD waterfront repair work force is appropriately trained, coordinating work force manning, developing & distributing work schedules, executing job planning including labor & material estimates, ensuring timely & complete radiological repair work & fleet support, overseeing material ordering & expediting, ensuring tools & materials are properly controlled & maintained, providing oversight for all waterfront NRMD facility spaces, identifying & supporting processd improvements, supporting the preparation & execution of the NRMD budget, & ensuring NRMD can fulfill all assigned emergency response duties.  Extensive interface is required with Electric Boat Mgmt., Naval Reactors, SUPSHIP, Regional Support Group, Squadron Commodores, & Fleet Command Officer's

    Education/ Experience


    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Management required
    • 5+ years experience supervising Naval Nuclear Propulsion Plant Operations & Maintenance
    • Minimum 5 years supervisory experience in radiological/maintenance/remediation & 5 years deckplate experience operating/testing/repairing nuclear plants.
    • Equivalent experience (10+ years supervising NNPP maintenance work) will be considered in lieu of BS.


    This position requires a strong knowledge of Naval Nuclear Propulsion Plant operations & maintenance, & an in-depth knowledge of Radiological Control requirements.  The individual must possess strong interpersonal skills & excellent verbal & written communications skills. Must be capable of acquiring & maintaining"R" worker qualification.  Final DOD classification of Secret or higher.
