    Job Description

    This position is for the EB West Maintenance & Modernization Site in Bremerton, WA.


    Position located in Bremerton, WA. Maintenance and Modernization has an opening for a highly motivated Electrical General Foreman to support delivered ship work at the EB West site.  The position requires working onboard submarines, supervising the EB and subcontractor workforce, for VA Class, 688’s, SSGN’s, Tridents and Seawolf submarines while performing planned maintenance, corrective maintenance, alteration installations, emergent work and overhaul tasks. This candidate will work between M&M shipboard work and manufacturing to ensure the work is being performed efficiently and in accordance with ship’s drawings, work procedures, company policies and procedures.  Candidate must have a thorough and robust knowledge of marine Electrical systems and components.  Candidate should have basic knowledge in marine Structural, Piping, Ventilation, Paint, and Mechanical processes to provide assistance to other trade functions, as needed.  This responsibility includes extensive planning, trade oversight,  schedule development, shipyard interaction and government interfacing.  The General Foreman will manage the performance of the group’s Safety, Quality, Cost, Schedule, and Continuous Improvement as well as be responsible for the administration and execution of the craft’s work paper (ie. Work orders, EWP, ERS, TGIs, DLs, ERs, Unsats, Test Forms, etc).  The selected individual shall interface with Engineering, ships’ management and other off-site organizations. The General Foreman shall be responsible for developing good work practices along with process improvements, and ensure assigned personnel conform to all regulatory and EB requirements. 

    Education/ Experience


    • High School diploma / GED or equivalent required.
    • Minimum 10 years of experience in shipbuilding, ship repair and working in an industrial marine environment is required.  This is not an entry level position
    • Ability to use NAVSEA/SP ships drawings, technical manuals, ship system manuals and various other documents in the performance of this task is a must.
    • Must have knowledge of SP/SSP’s, DIs and SIs.
    • Must be able to qualify and maintain Respiratory Protection certification
    • Must be able to qualify and maintain Fall Arrest Protection certification


    • Minimum 5 years supervisory experience is preferred.
    • Experience with Design build and ORP knowledge a plus.
    • Experience with Hull, Mechanical, Electrical, Sheet metal, Welding processes and installation of multiple ship systems on Trident, 688, Seawolf and Virginia class submarines is preferred.
