    Job Description

    The 2nd Shift Licensed Maintenance Technician will be responsible for performing both mechanical and electrical/electronic inspection and repairs on various production equipment assets including Blast and Paint systems and equipment, Steel Processing equipment, Machine Shop equipment, Sheet Metal Shop equipment, etc.

     

    Must be able to perform new installations while following safe work practices outlined by OSHA, the NFPA, the NEC, etc.

     

    Experience required in as many of the following as possible: analog and digital AC and DC drive controllers, solid state circuitry components and programmable logic controlling, motors, generators, alternators, resister banks, oil and vibration analysis equipment, HVAC equipment, etc.

     

    Education/ Experience

    Requirements:

    • This is a 2ND Shift Position; candidates must be willing & able to work 2ND Shift
    • 3+ years’ experience in industrial equipment mechanical or electrical maintenance field is required
    • A current Rhode Island Electrical, Pipefitting or Refrigeration License is required
    • Use of electrical meters (analog and digital) PLC's, motor circuit analysis or other related basic electrical/electronic troubleshooting instrumentation is required
    • A good working knowledge of commercial and industrial electricity a must
    • Should have basic knowledge and background in diagnostics and repair, electrical/electronics and systems, motor circuits and motor controllers, VFD's, etc.
    • Should have basic mechanical skills to perform routine maintenance involving these systems as well as pumps, motors, internal gearing, hydraulic systems, applications of fasteners and mechanical joint
    • Must possess a valid driver's license
    • Must also be able to work at heights up to 150 feet and at times in extreme weather conditions

     

    Preferred / Desired Skills:

    • High school diploma/GED preferred; additional preference given for Vocational, Technical and Community Colleges or Apprentice programs

    Skills

    • Applicant must apply for a security clearance as a condition of employment
    • Must be capable of being qualified on scissor lifts, manlifts, forklifts, etc. 
    • Applicant must be available to work overtime including emergent situations, extended hours and weekends when required
    • Must be able to work all shifts and in confined spaces and extreme temperature conditions
    • Applicant will be required to work in a collaborative and team environment and meet organizational goals
    • Individuals are required to possess their own basic hand tools
    • Must be attentive to detail and be able to interpret and follow all established procedures
    • Applicant must be Customer Focused
