The Electric Boat Special Projects Team assists the Design, Engineering, Planning and Operations communities by investigating problems and providing solutions with a focus on the successful on time completion of the Integrated Power System Compatibility Test Facility testing of the Production Motor Raft. Candidates are expected to quickly and accurately respond to user concerns by thoroughly defining the issue, engaging all people and equipment necessary, assist in determining the best course of action, reporting to all levels of management, and implementing solutions. In this role Candidates will be responsible for supporting a wide range of electrical systems and equipment including medium voltage and control systems, electric plant systems, auxiliary electrical/electronic systems, power distribution equipment and systems, and multi discipline mechanical and fluid systems. Candidates will function as a project/systems engineer performing tasks including interfacing with design activities, working in a team environment with our Navy Partners and other engineering organizations, vendor subcontract management, engineering specification development, and application of systems engineering principals. The elevated challenges of this position in comparison to other engineering departments require a highly motivated, self-starting attitude willing to handle aggressive schedules and solve unique technical, programmatic, and schedule challenges.
Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Marine, Civil, Nuclear, or Electrical Engineering is required
Strong communication skills and willingness to engage stakeholders to perform assigned tasks
Some travel to support meetings and product development will be required
