    Job Description




    Electric Boat is pleased to provide an opportunity to students currently enrolled in a drafting or engineering program, to work as an intern in any of the following design disciplines; Electrical, Piping, Mechanical, and Structural/Arrangements.  The Design Interns will assist the designers and/or draftsmen in preparing technical models and documents, resolving shipyard problems and other design activities.  Applicants should be able to communicate well, both orally and in writing.  

    • 452- Piping and Ventilation Design 
    • 453-Mechanical Design 
    • 456-Electrical Design
    • 459-Structural Design 


    Please note you may be assigned to work at any of the following locations: North Kingstown RI, Groton CT, North Stonington CT, New London, CT, and you will need reliable transportation and hosuing for the duration of your intern assignment.

    Education/ Experience



    • 18+ years of age
    • Must be a US citizen
    • Be available to work a minimum of eight (8) consecutive weeks between May 2019 to September 2019
    • Applicant must be familiar with basic drafting principles and CAD tools (eg. NX, CATIA, AutoCAD, SolidWorks). 
    • Applicants must be a Full time college student enrolled in a two year related design program or certificate program.
