Mechanical and Electrical Technical Lead/ Test Directors (Test Engineer) – Responsible to Chief Test Engineer. Duties and responsibilities include performing/directing testing of submarine systems and components as specified in the required test documents, as well as assisting the CTE in setting work assignments and priorities. Determine workload and test priorities based on project schedules, including the acquisition and maintenance of departmental test equipment. Establish authorized work control boundaries and associated system/component work isolations. Other non-conflicting duties may be assigned outside the Test Engineer organization as required to level load personnel.
This position requires management skills with an above average knowledge of submarine construction and testing of submarine systems coupled with an outstanding level of Work Authorization Forms and associated administrative system functionality. An excellent understanding of the Navy's tag out process and responsibilities is required. This position requires utilizing and managing test forms, Test Inspection Reports, and test form discrepancy processing. Candidate must be able to coordinate required efforts with Work Control, Operations Department, and Ship personnel to facilitate testing. This position is utilized to maintain a constant understanding of the ship's systems to ensure that all prerequisites are met for key events.
