    Job Description

     

    The COLUMBIA Class electrical systems engineering department has an opening for a highly motivated engineer to serve as a member in the area of computer control systems design of the underwater electromagnetic systems team.

     

    Responsibilities include the following:

    • Lead coordination efforts between system engineering, configuration management, system administrator, software developers, quality assurance, and software test.
    • Candidate must be able to manage requirements, develop and maintain budgets and schedules for various tasks, and coordinate between multiple projects.
    • Responsible for cost and schedule performance of assigned tasks.
    • Responsible for managing various projects and/or assigned tasks. 

     

    Candidates must be highly motivated, work independently and be willing to interact with other engineering disciplines, vendors and the design community.

    Education/ Experience

     

    Bachelor of Science in Engineering required, Electrical Engineering preferred. Background in military applications preferred. Experience with any of the following preferred: DC power supply design, cathodic protection theory, electric field theory, magnetic field theory, software development, and electronics design.

    The candidate should possess strong written and oral communication skills and be familiar with systems engineering principals.
