    Job Description

    This is a Production Control position in support of various programs including Virginia and Delivered Ship availability's. The successful candidate filling this position will be required to perform Detail Planning and/or Production Control functions which include, but are not limited to:

    • Drawing reviews, MRP file load, Product Structuring, load or coordination of the load of SWSS and CPJ, Work Order management, software and hardware expediting in support of Work Order schedules, change processing, and work completion closeout
    • Interface with Operations, Engineering, Design, Material Systems, Configuration Management, Quality and other support organizations at various levels of management
    • Represent Planning at various Construction status, Process Improvement and Program Review meetings
    • Maintain awareness of and compliance with those attributes of Safety, Quality, Cost, Schedule and Process Improvement as they applicable to this position

    Education/ Experience

    Required: 

    • High School or equivalent required.
    • 1 to 4 years’ experience in Trade, Shipyard, Military experience, Trade School, Planning or Production Control.
    • Good PC computer skills are required.
    • Good blueprint readings skills are required.

     

    Preferred: 

    • College degree highly desirable.
    • Working knowledge of ARTEMIS, MRPII, ERS, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Power Point is desirable.
    • Technical Schooling or job experience in one of the following disciplines is desired: Electrical, Mechanical, Piping. Sheetmetal/HVAC, Shipwrights and Structural.
    • Prior shipyard or submarine experience is desired.
