Department 442 - The Shipboard Network Systems Group requires engineers to assist in Domain System Development and Administration, Network System Architecture, System Engineering, Information Assurance, and System Integration Support efforts related to contractor furnished as well as government furnished network systems
Engineers are required to lead or assist in the Network and System Engineering efforts ranging from initial system and component design through development, component selection, hardware/software integration, configuration, component qualification, test, construction support, system technical documentation, delivery, system level training and post-delivery to include analysis and resolution of fleet identified problems.
This position will require that the engineer perform technology investigations and trade-studies, identify/resolve risks and validate methods to ensure producible end products. The candidate will also be required to interface with NAVSEA, government and commercial vendors and other EB Departments.
Bachelor of Science degree is required. Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or Computing Security is preferred, will consider other Engineering or Computer degrees with relevant experience. 3 to 10 years’ experience in electronics system development, integration, installation and test is preferred. Specific experience in network systems is highly preferred.
Experience with Information Assurance (STIG implementation, DIACAP/RMF process, NIST SP 800-53) and Network Architecture/Administration is preferred.
3 or more years of experience in network system architecture development, integration, installation and test is preferred. Specific experience in integration and network systems is highly preferred. 3 or more years of experience in Computer Systems Administration is preferred. Candidate must possess strong knowledge of system design/ development processes within her/his discipline. Strong organizational, communications, and interpersonal skills and the ability to function independently are required. Candidates must be highly motivated team players.
