The Supervisor of the D355 Structural discipline group will be responsible for providing direct technical support for work package development to support trade construction schedule of all Virginia new construction and Post Service Availability, Moored Training Ships, and various ship alterations. This support includes the management of change documents to support work execution and key events. This supervisor will be required to interface with other EB areas including, but not limited to, Engineering, Design, ECM, Production Control, and Advanced Planning to ensure proper communication and alignment of all planning process components to effect accurate and timely solutions and output. Frequent interface is also required with external organizations such as Newport News, and other public shipyards
The selected candidate will be expected to coordinate the activities of a multi-disciplined team of (16-18) Detail Planners to support a growing volume of work. The selected candidate will be responsible for the technical accuracy, quality, cost and schedule performance for products. To accomplish this mission, the position requires an intimate knowledge of manufacturing processes and the organizations that support those processes. The position requires a thorough knowledge of the Planning process including Artemis elements, Product Structuring, Shipyard data load, Work Package Development, and Change Maintenance along with the systems that support those processes. The selected candidate will have a proven track record of successfully leading technical projects, process improvement, and collaboration with internal and external organizations.
