This Engineering Supervisor will responsible for overseeing the D472 Moored Training Ship Support Yard (MTSSY) site engineering group in Charleston, SC. This is a "working" supervisor position in which the selected candidate will supervise a small team of cross discipline engineers and additionally perform on-site engineering functions. The selected individual will interface with the MTS commands and Ships’ Force, the on-site Naval Nuclear Laboratory (NNL) organization, the on-site EB MTSSY logistics group, MTSSY engineering groups in Groton, and Naval Reactors. The primary engineering functions of this group include supporting resolution of technical issues with ship’s systems and equipment, implementation and sustainment of a new preventative maintenance program, and supporting spare parts and component obsolescence issues. Job duties include daily deckplate review of ongoing maintenance and repair activities. The supervisor will also participate in "plan of the day meetings" and review of site LARs prior to submittal to MTSSY Engineering in Groton, CT.
