Job Description

D472 seeks a highly motivated individual to join its IT team. This role requires a broad understanding of technology including server, network, database, application and scripting skills. The successful candidate will work in a technically diverse environment with a team of administrators responsible for the installation, maintenance, support and customization of Commercial off the Shelf (COTS) products and for the management and support of enterprise COTS applications to ensure their security and availability to users across the network. The individual will set-up, configure, monitor and maintain Windows servers supporting COTS applications and will manage enterprise applications responsible for maintaining security and vulnerability management across the network.

Some of the duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: 

  • Microsoft Windows server and client operating system security patching and vulnerability management. 
  • Microsoft Windows server and client testing, imaging, implementation, management and upgrade 
  • Identify and recommend server hardware requirements 
  • Microsoft Active Directory and group policy management 
  • Develop, document and establish standard operating procedures 
  • Support cyber security initiatives 
  • Develop and execute test plans to support network upgrade projects 
  • Administration, installation, and configuration of COTS equipment including establishing the necessary server and databases to run the software
  • Willingness to cross-train to support Linux systems (collateral duty)
  • The successful candidate will be expected to lead some projects and support others within the group. This position will also require implementing government standard configuration to configure network operating components. Lastly the successful candidate will be expected to attend training sessions to maintain and improve skill sets as well as cross training peers.

Education/ Experience

Required:

  • Must have or be able to obtain a DoD Top Secret clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field from an accredited college or university 
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience is required
  • Ability to research and solve complex problems

 

Skills

Skills:

The successful candidate will have a broad range of experience with some of the following skills: 

  • Ability to research and solve complex problems 
  • Experience in configuring MS Windows clients and servers on a network 
  • Skills in system administration including Active Directory, group policies and user support 
  • Experience with System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) 
  • Experience managing or using IBM Endpoint Manager / BigFix 
  • Experience in hardening systems through implementation of Cyber Security principles, policies and requirements, specifically DISA security guidelines 
  • Experience with Microsoft Server 2008/2012/2016
  • Experience in applying and maintaining patch levels and security configurations Experience with scripting technologies such as PowerShell 
  • Experience supporting an IT infrastructure that supports multiple physical locations Demonstrated multitasking and prioritization abilities
