This position is for the EB West Maintenance & Modernization Site in Bremerton, WA.
Position located in Bremerton, WA. Maintenance & Modernization has an opening for a highly motivated Manufacturing Technician, Inspector. This requirement is for a Non Destructive Test QA inspector to support new construction and delivered ship work. The primary focus is to support the West coast site (Puget EB) operations, however, support of others sites will be required.
The successful candidate will be responsible for performing nondestructive testing (NDT), eg, MT, PT, UT, VT and Acid Etching of welds/materials and installation checks of nuclear submarine systems. Inspections require execution of NDT techniques, performing visual and dimensional checks and evaluation of physical conditions of mechanical systems (piping, structure, mechanical, etc.) to specification criteria. Reviewing and understanding of drawing and specification requirements for nuclear systems is required. Working knowledge of delivered ship documents (JFFM, UIPI) preferred.
Candidate must possess the ability to use basic measuring tool and gauges required of the craft. Basic reading/writing and blueprint knowledge is required. Candidate must be able to pass NDT training, certifications and will be required to be trained in quality control systems, and associated procedures.
This position requires excellent interpersonal skills, strong computer skills, and the ability to interface effectively with Shipyard End Users, EB Engineering, Quality Personnel, QP, Puget and Groton trades, as well as Senior EBC staff. The successful candidate must have strong verbal, writing, and organizational skills, must be a self-starter, capable of working independently, and has demonstrated the ability to solve problems and make sound decisions. Travel will be required.
