Job Description

For W. Langley. The responsibilities of the Electric Boat Corp Electromagnetics (EM) group include analysis of potential electromagnetic interference (EMI) problems on submarine systems and components, equipment electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) testing, determination of EMC test requirements in support of system and component procurement specification preparation during design phase, and shipboard testing-troubleshooting once ship construction and testing commences. The EM group is also involved with controlling Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) effects, and for submarine electromagnetic signature characterizations and modeling.

Education/ Experience

Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering.

 

Zero to Four years of experience required. Practical/theoretical EMC experience, particularly with the equipment and system qualification test requirements of MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-464 and DOD-STD-1399 Sect 070.

Skills

Candidates must possess strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills which are necessary to function successfully in existing teamed environments. The ability to multi-task and possession of skills that permit independent functioning without significant oversight is also desired.
