The individual will be responsible for the management and maintenance of the Electric Boat Specification History Program and the Master Index of Referenced Documents (MIRD) for all Military and Commercial specifications both Primary and Process along with Technical Manuals for D447 Material Services. This activity involves working with D447 personnel and interfacing with Engineering, Quality, Contracts departments and the Customer. The responsibilities of this position include ensuring overall part catalog documentation/revision data management, acting as the department and company coordinator for the Specification History and technical comparison system, conducting reviews of completed spcifications (military and government and commercial) for interchangeability for fit, form, function and the coordinator for the obtaining of applicable part number document updates and verifications. The individaual will be required to establish and maintain specification effectivity baseline by contract via oversseing the loading of the applicable CPC/SPM document data file, reviews and resolving specification/revision questions on ER's, VIR's and other technical documents that relate to specification issues while ensuring the document technical data contained within the EB Parts Catalog is accurate to the contractural requirements and the Company's quality objectives.
High School diploma or equivalent is required.
Knowledge of shipbuilding processes is a plus.
A knowledge of shipbuilding specifications and manuals is required. Excellent communication skills (written and oral) are required to facilitate communication with other Engineering, Quality, Contract departments as well as EB Management and Customer personnel. A good understanding of the ship construction process and working knowledge of trade functions is also desirable. Be well organized, self motivated and be able to work independently.
