This posting is for STO Electrical Mechanic within Nuclear Test Operations.
This position will require electrical testing of nuclear components in accordance with their respective test procedure, performing alignment and alignment checks of Nuclear Instrumentation and Detectors, and performing the duties of “Safety Technician” to ensure that systems are properly tagged out, isolated, and de-energized in order for other trades to perform work safely.
Candidates must be able to understand electrical system diagrams, blueprints, schematics, and be able to perform troubleshooting in accordance with Test Engineer/Shift Test Engineer documentation when required.
The selected individual must understand the requirements and comply with the EB Safety Manual, various technical manuals, and applicable department instructions when working on energized equipment.
Some heavy lifting is required along with crawling and working in tight, confined spaces.
The successful applicant must be medically able and willing to obtain and maintain radiological dosimetry to work within radiological work areas. In addition, the individual must be able to pass all required trade training qualifications.
High School Diploma or equivalent
Candidates must be able to read & work from blueprints and schematics.
Technical school diploma or higher
Previous Navy experience and / or shipboard testing with electrical systems
Individual must be able to understand electrical system diagrams, blueprints, and schematics.
